KUALA LUMPUR, 20 December 2023 – Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) [KWAP] in collaboration with the Public Service Department (JPA) has announced the winner of the Anugerah MyPesara on 20 December 2023 in Kuala Lumpur. This ceremony was attended by Dato’ Mohd Shaiful bin Ibrahim, the Deputy Director of the Service (Operations), Public Service Department.
The Anugerah MyPesara is a premier award specially prepared to recognise and appreciate public service retirees who have made a positive impact in the fields of Entrepreneurship, Education, Social and Community Service. The award also aims to encourage retirees and future retirees to continue to engage and contribute positively to society during their retirement phase.
By identifying outstanding individuals who have played a meaningful role in their retirement, the Anugerah MyPesara has become a source of inspiration and enthusiasm for retirees on the importance of remaining active and positive even after retirement.
The award winners are:

Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr Kamaruddin Bin Hussin who served as the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), won the Education Category for his active involvement in the National and State education agenda of Perlis through various organisations and agencies as a volunteer. He was also crowned as the Grand Prize winner;

Dr Loji Roji Bin Saibi who served as the Bintulu District Education Officer won the Social and Community Service Category for his active involvement in helping the local community by carrying out beneficial activities such as holding Al-Quran classes, working on pineapple plantations and housing areas for teachers through various associations and agencies, and;

Mohd Hedzir Bin Borhan who served as the Assistant Director of Customs won the Entrepreneurship Category for his contribution in opening opportunities for communities in several states to generate income through his timber supply business.
Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr Kamaruddin Bin Hussin as the grand prize winner of the Anugerah MyPesara took home RM50,000 in cash, a trophy, and a certificate of appreciation. The winners for each category were awarded RM10,000, in cash along with trophies and certificates of appreciation while cash amounting to RM3,000, trophies and certificates of appreciation were also presented to the recipients as consolation prizes for each category.
Chief Executive Officer of KWAP, Datuk Hajah Nik Amlizan Mohamed said, “The winners who were crowned today for the Anugerah MyPesara have redefined the concept of retirement through their extraordinary contributions, where they are still actively contributing energy, expertise, knowledge, and various efforts for the well-being of the community even though they have entered the golden age and entered the realm of retirement. We at KWAP hope that they will inspire the public in our efforts to promote active and productive ageing among retirees and future retirees, in line with our slogan – Your Retirement Companion.”

About Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan)
Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) [KWAP] or the Retirement Fund (Incorporated) was established on 1st March 2007 under the Retirement Fund Act 2007 (Act 662) replacing the repealed Pensions Trust Fund Act 1991 (Act 454).
KWAP manages contributions from the Federal Government and relevant agencies made into the Retirement Fund [Fund] to obtain optimum returns on its investments through sound management and investment of the Fund in equity, fixed income securities, money market instruments, and other forms of investments as permitted under the Retirement Fund Act 2007 (Act 662). The Fund shall be applied towards assisting the Federal Government in funding its pension liabilities. In 2015, KWAP was officially appointed as an agent of the Federal Government for the purpose of pension payment, gratuity, or other benefits granted under any written law from the Consolidated Fund as agreed between the Federal Government and KWAP.
