As one of the largest Institutional Investor in Malaysia, KWAP believes it is in a strategic position to influence and promote good practices in corporate governance and sustainability matters at the industry level and amongst its Investee Companies. This belief is based on our conviction that such good practices can contribute towards generating sustainable long-term risk adjusted returns and benefit our stakeholders. One of the avenues in which KWAP intends to fulfil this role is by exercising our voting rights at the shareholders’ meetings of our Investee Companies.
PROXY VOTING
KWAP believes in exercising our voting rights as a shareholder as a means to promote good governance amongst our investee companies and consequently enhance their ability to generate long-term value for shareholders on a sustainable basis. To this end, KWAP aspires to be transparent in terms of both our voting decisions as well as the rationale behind them.
