Integrity has been a part of KWAP’s core values since its establishment as Malaysia’s largest public sector pension fund in 2007. This has been reinforced by our commitment to upholding good governance and ethical business practice by establishing relevant policies, procedures, and mechanisms.

KWAP employees are always bound by the set of rules established to guide them in practising ethical behaviour in the discharge of their duties.
KWAP adopts a zero-tolerance approach against all forms of bribery and corruption. We are committed to maintain and preserve the highest standard of governance, accountability, and transparency; and comply with all laws and regulations. These commitments are reflected in our Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy which is applicable to our Board and Investment Panel members, employees, subsidiaries, and business associates.

KWAP practises a “no gift” policy, with certain limited exceptions, so as to avoid conflict of interest or violation of anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws.
All KWAP personnel are required to act in the best interests of KWAP and not put themselves in a position where they are involved in an activity for personal gain, or which involves a conflict of interest. A conflict of interest arises when personal interests and relationships impair, or appear to impair, the independence of any action / judgement which KWAP personnel may need to make in discharging their duties to KWAP. Any conflict of interest that arises must be declared accordingly.
KWAP has been certified with ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) since 3 December 2021.
The establishment and implementation of KWAP’s anti-corruption controls and measures that is in conformance to ABMS standard ensures that they are adequate in addressing corruption risks within the organisation.
The certification covers the following functions which are undertaken by KWAP’s departments in Kuala Lumpur and Cyberjaya offices, as well as its subsidiaries, namely KWEST Sdn. Bhd. and Prima Ekuiti (UK) Limited:
- Management of contributions;
- Administration, management and investment of pension fund, including functional and operational supports; and
- Management and payment of pension.
KWAP is committed to maintain and continuously enhance the relevant controls and measures established as per the global anti-corruption standard and best practice.
