KWAP Welcomes Nik Amlizan Mohamed as its New CEO

KUALA LUMPUR, 2 November 2020 — Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) [KWAP] is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nik Amlizan Mohamed effective today.

 

Nik Amlizan was previously the CEO of Malaysia’s Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT), having held the position since 2018. Prior to that, she was the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of KWAP, and had served the organisation under various roles since she first joined in 2007.

 

Her professional career spans over 25 years in financial services and pension funds, overseeing investment functions across all asset classes, while having vast experiences in fund management industry, transformational change and change management, as well as corporate governance.


Nik Amlizan obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Claremont McKenna College, United States.

Her appointment follows the completion of syed Hamadah Syed Othman’s 2-year tenure which ended on 31 October 2020.

 


 

About Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan)

Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) [KWAP] or the Retirement Fund (Incorporated) was established on 1st March 2007 under the Retirement Fund Act 2007 (Act 662) replacing the repealed Pensions Trust Fund Act 1991 (Act 454).

KWAP manages contributions from the federal government and relevant agencies made into the Retirement Fund [Fund] to obtain optimum returns on its investments through sound management and investment of the Fund in equity, fixed income securities, money market instruments, and other forms of investments as permitted under the Retirement Fund Act 2007 (Act 662). The Fund shall be applied towards assisting the Federal Government in financing its pension duties. In 2015, KWAP was officially appointed as an agent of the Federal Government for the purpose of pension payment, gratuity, or other benefits granted under any written law from the Consolidated Fund as agreed between the Federal Government and KWAP.
