KUALA LUMPUR, 11 May 2026 – Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) [KWAP] today announced the appointment of Dato’ Jay Khairil Jeremy Abdullah as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 20 May 2026.
Dato’ Jay Khairil brings almost 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services sector, with extensive expertise across financial management, governance, internal audit, risk management, and institutional transformation.
Prior to joining KWAP, Dato’ Jay Khairil served as Chief Executive of Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), where he led the bank’s transformation across financial performance, digital banking, operational resilience, and financial inclusion, while delivering its developmental mandate to serve communities across Malaysia.
He also served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Internal Auditor of BSN, and held senior roles at CIMB Group, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (Malaysia), and Bank Negara Malaysia, with earlier experience at Hong Leong Bank and AmMerchant Bank.
Dato’ Jay Khairil holds a Degree in Business and Finance from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom, and a Higher Diploma in Management Accounting. He is a Chartered Banker, Chartered Global Management Accountant and Certified Financial Services Auditor, and is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, as well as a Chartered Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia.
As Chief Executive Officer of KWAP, Dato’ Jay Khairil will lead the organisation’s strategic direction, operations and institutional priorities, while advancing KWAP’s mandate as Malaysia’s public sector pension fund through disciplined investment, sound governance and long-term institutional stewardship.
KWAP also records its appreciation to Datuk Hajah Nik Amlizan Mohamed, who served as KWAP’s Chief Executive Officer since 2020, for her leadership, service, and contributions to the organisation’s continued success during her tenure.
