ABOUT THE AWARD
The Anugerah MyPesara is the first award of its kind to acknowledge and appreciate
public sector pensioners who have made a positive impact in their lives and the lives
of others in the fields of Education, Social and Community Service, and
Entrepreneurship.
Objective
Honour Lifelong Contributions
To acknowledge pensioners who have significantly impacted their professions, communities, or the nation, celebrating their noble contributions and efforts.
Inspire the Next Generation
To showcase pensioners as role models, inspiring younger generations to value hard work, perseverance, and the importance of contributing positively to society.
Promote Diversity in Retirement Achievements
To recognize a wide range of accomplishments among pensioners, from entrepreneurship and community service to education.
Strengthen Support for Pensioners Initiatives
To amplify awareness and support for programs and initiatives led by pensioners, fostering a culture that values and empowers their ongoing contributions.
AWARD CATEGORIES
EDUCATION
This award is accorded to the pensioner who has actively been involved in enhancing learning processes and paving the way for education accessibility in marginalised communities.
Social and Community Service
This award is accorded to the pensioner who has contributed to the provision of aid to resource-deprived communities and to increasing social awareness on state to international platforms.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
This award is accorded to the pensioner who has showcased outstanding entrepreneurial skills through sustainable business in various sectors such as agriculture, services, manufacturing, food and beverage, and many others from which job opportunities are created and there are contributions to the economic development.
The nominees’ contribution and positive impacts on the community must align with the specified categories and selection criteria.
The organiser may select and award a nominee in a different category than the category submitted at the organiser’s absolute discretion, if it is deemed more suitable.
ELIGIBILITY
The Anugerah MyPesara is the first award of its kind to acknowledge and appreciate public sector pensioners who have made a positive impact in their lives and the lives of others in the fields of Education, Social and Community Service, and Entrepreneurship.
The purpose of Anugerah MyPesara is to identify outstanding individuals who have played a meaningful role during their retirement and to inspire others to challenge retirement stereotypes and be an advocate for productive ageing.
- Malaysian citizens aged 55 years and older.
- Former employees in the civil service who have retired from the federal, state, statutory or local authority, except ATM veterans to whom the provisions of Retirement Fund Act 2007 (Act 662) do not apply. The participants should still receive monthly pensions from the Government.
- individuals who are actively contributing to the community and have made a profound difference while demonstrating successful practices in their respective fields after retirement, for a minimum period of 5 years.
- Nominees who have never been nominated for, received or won any international or national awards, recognition, prizes or accolades within the past five (5) years (2020–2024).
- Nominees who have never received or won the grand prize and category winner of Anugerah MyPesara orAnugerah Ikon Pesara organised by KWAP in any year and categories.
- Participations through self-nominations and third-party nominations are accepted.
- All nominations must be supported by relevant documents as proof.
Nomination Submission
- Participation is free of charge and is open exclusively to the specified Malaysian Government pensioners only as stated in the Nomination Criteria.
- Nominees and nominators are responsible for providing true, accurate, current, and complete information as requested in the nomination form.
- Attach supporting documents such as published articles, press releases, and copies of certificates of engagement, membership or achievements for verification and due diligence purposes.
- For the Entrepreneurship category, the nominees’ business must be registered with Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), and the relevant documents, including SSM registration certification and financial documents must be submitted.
- For the Social and Community Service category, the nominees’ organisation must be registered with Registration of Societies Malaysia (ROS), and the relevant supporting documents must be submitted.
- Nominators can nominate as many pensioners as they want with sufficient evidence of achievements. However, each pensioner is eligible to be nominated in one category only.
- By submitting the nomination form, the nominee and nominator will be deemed to have read, understood, accepted and agreed to the terms and conditions of the Award.
- KWAP reserves the right to reject or not accept nominations for any reason, including incomplete nomination forms or failure to meet any terms and conditions by the nominee and nominator.

Puan Sariah Amirin
She won the award under the Education category based on her achievements and contributions to individuals with learning difficulties, specifically dyslexia. She is the Founder and President of the Dyslexia Association of Malaysia.

Profesor Emeritus Datuk Dr. Kamaruddin
The recipients of the Grand and Education Category Awards at Anugerah MyPesara 2023 exemplify a steadfast commitment to advancing education, both within Malaysia and globally. In addition to his research, which has successfully produced 139 high-impact journals since 2018, Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr. Kamaruddin has contributed over 206 conference papers. He is also actively involved in anti-drug efforts through the Malaysian Drug Prevention Association (PEMADAM).

Encik Mazlan bin Hashim
Encik Mazlan is the recipient of the Grand Award and the Social & Community Service Category at Anugerah MyPesara 2024. He is a distinguished and highly respected leader, renowned for his dedication to community empowerment and social impact. He remains actively involved in silat and martial arts associations at the state level in Pahang. In recognition of his contributions to community development, he has received several awards including Tokoh Pembantu Tadbir Negeri Pahang (2020) and Karyawan Jejak Warisan, both at the Pahang state level.
