Cash prize of RM50,000 awaits KWAP’s Anugerah MyPesara winners

KUALA LUMPUR, 10 October 2023 –  In recognising the contributions of retired civil servants who remain actively engaged in serving and empowering the community during their retirement, Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) [KWAP] in collaboration with the Public Services Department (JPA) invites all public sector retirees to take part in the Anugerah MyPesara award programme this year.

The award also aims to encourage retirees and future retirees to remain active and productive while contributing positively to society during their retirement phase.

The Anugerah MyPesara is divided into three categories: Education, Social and Community Service, and Entrepreneurship. It is open to Malaysian citizens who are currently receiving government monthly pension, aged 55 and above, and have retired from federal and state public services, statutory bodies, and local authorities, excluding retirees from the Malaysian armed forces.

Public sector retirees who are interested in participating in Anugerah MyPesara can submit their entries starting from 10 October 2023 to 10 November 2023. Submission of entry forms and documents can be done via email to anugerahmypesara@kwap.gov.my, postage, or walk-in to KWAP offices in Kuala Lumpur or Cyberjaya, as well as at the Jelajah MyPesara roadshows that will be held during this period. The grand prize winner of Anugerah MyPesara will receive a cash prize of up to RM50,000, a trophy, and a certificate of appreciation. Three winners from each category will also receive a cash prize of RM10,000, a trophy, and a certificate each. Meanwhile, a cash prize of RM3,000, a trophy, and a certificate of appreciation will be given to five consolation prize recipients each.

Additionally, KWAP has organised Jelajah MyPesara throughout the year across the country, providing advisory services to potential retirees on various retirement aspects, including financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and healthcare, which will continue until the end of the year. To round up the Jelajah MyPesara, KWAP will also be hosting Karnival MyPesara scheduled to take place on 25 and 26 November 2023, which will be held at Dataran Karnival Stadium Shah Alam.

About Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan)

Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) [KWAP] or the Retirement Fund (Incorporated) was established on 1st March 2007 under the Retirement Fund Act 2007 (Act 662) replacing the repealed Pensions Trust Fund Act 1991 (Act 454).

KWAP manages contributions from the federal government and relevant agencies made into the Retirement Fund [Fund] to obtain optimum returns on its investments through sound management and investment of the Fund in equity, fixed-income securities, money market instruments, and other forms of investments as permitted under the Retirement Fund Act 2007 (Act 662). The Fund shall be applied towards assisting the Federal Government in financing its pension duties. In 2015, KWAP was officially appointed as an agent of the Federal Government for the purpose of pension payment, gratuity, or other benefits granted under any written law from the Consolidated Fund as agreed between the Federal Government and KWAP.
