Retirement Due To Medical Ground

Retirement due to medical ground [Paragraph 10(5) (a), Act 227 / 239]
Pensionable officers who are not able to perform his duties due to permanent infirmity of mind or body shall be referred to the Medical Board, according to the principles of Circular of Service No. 10 of 1995 and General Order, Chapter F (1974).

The following conditions allows an officer to be referred to The Medical board for consideration : 
  • Have used all annual sick leaves and is still unwell

  • Taken 45 days of leave per year, 3 years in a row

  • The medical officer believes there is no hope of recovery​

  • Brain consciousness and body health is in doubt

  • A medical officer confirmed the officer is suffering tuberculosis, leprosy or cancer

  • Injured while on duty and not due to the officer’s negligence 


Payment of Pension Benefit 

Pension 

1/600 x total amount x last drawn salary received 

*subject to a maximum of 3/5 of last drawn salary received per month but :-

  • not less than one-fifth of last drawn salary received; and

  • not less than RM 820.00 per month for a period of reckonable service of 300 months or more. 


Services Reward 

7.5% x total amount x last drawn salary received

  • A copy of Service and Leave Statement  

  • A copy of marriage / registration certificate. If none, a valid declaration letter of are acceptable

  • A copy of NRIC of husband / wife of officer

  • A copy of birth certificate of children that is below 21 years old and no age limit for children with disabilities 

  • A copy of the bank document that shows the name, identity card number and bank account number

  • Board Medical Report – Appendix A to P.P. 10/95

  • Approval Letter – Appendix "C-1" to P.P. 10/95

  • Acknowledgment on Retirement due to Health Problem – Appendix n D to P.P. 10/95

  • Approval of retirement options:

    • federal civil officer, statutory bodies and local authorities: Approval from JPA 

    • state civil officer: Approval from State Secretariat Office
