What is KWAP’s main activity?
KWAP’s main activity is to manage contributions and investments of the Fund as well as the management of pension payment.
What does KWAP invests in?
The KWAP Act permits investments based on its asset allocation for domestic and international exposures such as equities, fixed income securities, money market instruments and other forms of invesments that has been reviewed by the Investment Panel and gained the Board's approval. KWAP's investment also supports ESG and syariah compliance.
What is the difference between contribution made to KWAP and that of EPF (KWSP)?
KWAP only manages contributions from permanent government staff with pensionable status and who are in service with Regulatory Body and Local Authorities while the EPF (KWSP) manages contributions from private sector employees and government employees who opted to contribute to the EPF.
Does KWAP have branches in each state?
No. At the moment KWAP operates from its main office in Kuala Lumpur while its Pension Services operates from the Cyberjaya office where it is strategically located close to the Government offices.
Does KWAP make pension payments to retired government officers?
Since end of year 2015, KWAP act as an agent of the Federal Government for the purpose of pension payment, gratuity or other benefits granted under any written law from the Consolidated Fund in such manner as may be agreed between the Federal Government and KWAP, while pension policies are managed by the Public Services Department.
Does KWAP give out dividends to its contributing members?
No, at the moment KWAP does not give out dividends on the monthly contributions of its members.
Does KWAP send annual statements to contributors?
No. KWAP does not send out annual statements to its contributors. However the KWAP annual reports are distributed to contributing employers.
