Business Continuity Management

Business Continuity Management is an holistic management process that identifies potential impacts that threaten an organisation and provides a framework for building resilience and the capability for an effective response that safeguards the interests of its key stakeholders, reputation, brand and value creating activities.

 

As such, KWAP has developed a BCM Framework and kick start its implementation enterprise-wide. One of the key action is engaging independent and reliable “Disaster Recovery Centre (DRC)” that provides necessary infrastructure for business resumption activities.

Incident Management Plan (IMP)
  • A documented framework that enables KWAP to manage crisis regardless of cause.
  • Defines how the strategic issues of a crisis affecting KWAP would be addressed and managed.
  • Support role of Incident Management Team (IMT).
  • Facilitate compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
Incident Communication Plan (ICP)
  • Manage communication. stakeholders and media
  • Support role of Incident Management Team (IMT).
  • Demonstration of preparedness for continuity management to media, markets, stakeholders & regulators.
  • Facilitate compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP)
  • Operational Procedures for IT team.
  • Facilitate restoration of critical ICT systems.
  • Monitor and maintain ICT systems.
  • Provide technical supports for business operations.
Business Continuity Plan(BCP)
  • Documented framework and process for resumption of critical functions.
  • Provide activity response plans at departmental level.
  • Prioritised resumption of critical functions.
  • Support the operational team at departmental level.
Test, Maintain and Review
Test
  • Gauge effectiveness of plans.
  • Type of test includes desk check, walk through, simulation, activity testing, application test, full swing test.
Maintain
  • Ensure the effectiveness of KWAP’s BCM capabilities despite changes to internal business processes and external influences.
Review
  • Assess competency / capability of existing BCM verification against predefined standards and criteria.
Awareness & Training
Assessing level of BCM awareness and training
  • Assessing current and desired level of BCM awareness.
  • Defines the target areas as well as the most effective management of the awareness campaign.
Embed BCM within KWAP’s culture
  • Training for specific BCM related skills.
  • Education for general BCM knowledge
  • Awareness for specific knowledge on BCM issues.
Monitoring cultural change
  • Maintain the quality and effectiveness of BCM campaign.
  • Ensure required level of BCM awareness is achieved.
