Duties and Responsibilities of Employers
 
Employers are required to undertake the following duties and responsibilities.
 
Registration of Employees as KWAP Members
  • An employer is required to register all of its employees with KWAP within 14 days from the date the pensionable status is granted by Public Service Department. Form CP1 will be used for registration of employees
  • Employers are required to use the KWAP member number for the remittance of the pension contributions of each employee.
 
Payment of Pension Contributions
  • Employers are required to pay pension contribution for its pensionable employees at the rate of 17.5% of the basic salaries of the employees.
  • Employers are required to complete the monthly contribution forms (Format 1, 2, and 2C) with the correct contribution amount and employees details.
  • Payment of pension contributions shall be remitted on or before the last date of the following month.
  • Receipts of payments remitted shall be kept by employers for a period of not less than 7 years.
  • Pension contributions for employees on study leave should be paid in full for the period of study leave approved.
 
Contributions of Seconded Staff
  • Secondment agencies are required to notify KWAP of any employment of seconded staff by providing the particulars and details of the secondment.
  • Employers ie the secondment agencies are required to remit pension contribution for its seconded staff (with pensionable status) throughout the period of secondment.
  • The rate of pension contributions payable is 17.5% of the basic salaries of the seconded staff
  • Employers are required to notify KWAP of any cessation / termination of secondment period of the seconded staff
 
Change of Name / Employer Status
  • Employers are required to notify KWAP in writing of any change in name or status of the employers within 14 days from the date of change.
 
Change of Address / Business Contacts
  • Employers are required to notify KWAP in writing of any change of address/business contact within 14 days from the date of change.
