|
- To support the Government in creating awareness on retirement
planning to benefit Government servants and pensioners
- To promote education and continuous learning in support
of the nation’s human capital agenda by leveraging on KWAP’s
core competencies
- To encourage volunteerism among employees with the aim of
creating a caring corporate culture
- To participate, directly or indirectly, in humanitarian
efforts

CSR Programs for 2012
|
|
As a progressive and caring organisation that is committed
to finding ways to improve the quality of life of its employees
and society at large, KWAP as a good corporate citizen embarked
upon a number of Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”)
initiatives. Below are several initiatives that KWAP will
embark in for the year 2012:

01 - Article Contribution in Daily Newspaper |
|
- As part of managing media and stakeholders
communication, KWAP also contributed articles
to The Edge Financial Daily editions. The topics covered
ranged from economics, fixed income, equities, risk
management and fund management related.

|
02 - Financial Planning for Retirement Seminar |
|
- As one of the core objectives of the CSR Program is to educate the public on retirement, KWAP organized a Seminar on Financial Planning for Retirement in October 2011.
Representatives from the Royal Malaysian Customs Department,
Petaling Jaya Municiple Council, Malaysia Inland Revenue
Board
and Accountant General's Office attended the one day seminar.

03 - Fun Kid's with KWAP English
Workshop |
|
- With the objective to explore possible ways for
making classroom teaching more entertaining and fun, and
to promote positive participation from school children,
two English workshops were organised with SK Bukit
Tampoi(A), Dengkil and SK Salak, Sepang.

04 - Visit to Rumah K.I.D.S |
|
- Acknowledging the need for social charity
contribution, KWAP shared the gift of giving with the
occupants of two Rumah K.I.D.S orphanages in Subang
Jaya. KWAP representatives brought food and gifts in
time for the Christmas celebration.

05 - Visit to KWAP's Trading Room by Students of University
of Malaya |
|
- KWAP opened its doors to students from the Faculty
of Accountancy and Business Management for a half a day
visit to the Trading Room, where they were exposed to
real life trading environment. The students were also
briefed on the world of Fixed Income, Equity investment
activities and career path guide in the investment
industry.

06 - Saving The Environment and World Celebration Days |
|
- One crucial aspect of our CSR initiative is to
establish a work culture that is environmentally aware
and conscientious. We wish to instill a sense of respect
and appreciation for the environment in each and every
individual in KWAP. In this regard, efforts were made by
participating in the "Earth Hour" program in March,
which saw KWAP turning off its lights and switches for
one hour, Smoke Free week in May by distributing
leaflets and nicotine gums to encourage employees to
quit smoking as well as encouraged employees to recycle
waste. KWAP also observed the month of October as the
Breast Cancer month and held several activities during
the month, while in December KWAP observed the World
Aids Day by organising a talk and screened AIDS related
movies.

07 - Asian Pension Fund Round Table 2011 |
|
- KWAP was given the honour of becoming the
in-country host of the 2011 Asian Pension Fund
Roundtable organised by the Pacific Pension Institute of
San Francisco. Two of KWAP's representatives were
selected as panelist in the seminars. Nazaiful Affendi
Zainal Abidin, Director of Portfolio Strategy Department
presented "Today's Optimum Portfolio : Comparative
Perspectives from Asia and North America" while Khairul
Azwa Kamalul Bahrin, Director of Risk Management and
Compliance Department presented in the Master Class
"Strategies for Institutional Investors in The Face of
Volatility".

08 - Fit and Fab Challenge |
|
- KWAP organised its first weight loss competition to
promote healthier living amongst employees. Throughout
the three month program, participants were handed
manuals, guides, food diaries, work out sessions and
activities which were tailored for maximum weight loss.
|
|
